I Spoke Way Too Soon
Apparently, both Nick Hornby's High Fidelity and "hit-movie" (not my term) The Wedding Singer are also coming to Broadway.

Musical Theater is Officially Doomed
Anne Rice's vampire book, Lestat, is coming to Broadway.
I'm not sure if the fact that Elton John wrote the music is a point of redemption or damnation.

High Dynamic Range Imaging
Basically, this is amazing. Must start experimenting once deluge of papers/exams has receded into the blissful distance.
HDR imaging is the result of blending a series of photos of different exposures to create a single, super-detailed and almost surreal image.

There are some beautiful examples of HDR popping up around the net. Check out a Flickr pool of contributed images for some great examples.

An Excerpt
I do not know which to prefer,
The beauty of inflections
Or the beauty of innuendoes,
The blackbird whistling
Or just after.

Redesign?
My photo website is desperately in need of a redesign because it's 1) ugly, 2) hard to navigate, and 3) hasn't been updated in a year. The only problem is that I'm used to designing all my sites in a bastardization of notepad and FrontPage, and I have no idea how to procure similar software for my iBook. What I'd really like to do is create a Flash site, but I've never worked with the necessary software (though I figure it can't be that hard) and I have no idea where to get it. Help?

Simple Pleasures
01. In the city that never sleeps, neither do the birds. I can open my window at 4 a.m. and listen to the kingbirds out in the quad.
02. Opening the restaurant on Friday mornings and dancing around in the bar to Juanes.
03. Closing the Spectator office on Tuesday nights.
04. The underside of pigeons' wings when they're mid-flight. Otherwise, they're ugly bastards.
05. Dangly earrings.
06. Anything with tamarind, pineapple, or raspberries. But probably not all at once.
07. The perfectly timed shadow.
08. Watching the George Washington Bridge from my fire escape.
09. Getting lost intentionally. Or maybe that's just what I tell myself so I don't feel so stupid.
10. The corners of his eyes.

Update
I'm back to selling photos (read: I'm poor and want to buy a new camera before I go to Viet Nam). Matted 5x7 & 6x8 prints are $15, 8x10's are $25, and 10x12's are coming soon (e-mail ella@dani.dsvr.com for more information). One weekend fairly soon Francis and I are going to head to Central Park and set up a table.
In other news, photo posts are delayed because my hard drive is completely full. Will commence as soon as my external HD arrives and I can actually upload photos off of my flash cards.
